It may sound basic, but a cat could escape a cattery if it is not managed, built, or maintained properly. Catteries should have:

Individualized cat units that are built securely. These should also be maintained properly so that no gaps or holes exist because these can become escape routes for cats.

There should be ‘safety areas or corridors’ outside the units, like airlocks on spaceships, preventing cats from getting past a person going in or out to clean the unit or feed the cats. Outside doors should be kept closed always whenever the inside door opens, and the other way around too. This will ensure that cats are contained safely inside and cannot escape.

The staff must be trained to understand that keeping doors closed is of utmost importance. Because this is a human error in which cats could get out. A properly run cattery should not allow things like this to happen.

A sudden change in your pet’s behavior should warrant a visit to your animal hospital Aurora, CO. Visit their website to know more about their services.
