Best Location For A Hamster Cage

Updated: Dec 20, 2022

Having hamsters as pets is not as taxing as having cats and dogs. Why not? Because hamsters are laid-back animals that do not require too much of your time and attention. Just ensure to give them their daily needs so they can thrive on their own. One of the things you should give them is a nice enclosure or cage and the proper location for it.

These days, you can choose from a variety of hamster enclosures. Depending on your hamster’s size, breed, and age, you must decide which suits its needs best. Buy your job does not end in choosing and buying the proper hamster cage. Decide where to place the cage. So, where should you? What are the things you should deliberate about this matter?

Here are a few points to think about:

  • Size of the cage. Large cages are hard to move around. So choose a place where you can place them permanently.

  • Place the cage on top of a table or cabinet – just above the floor; away from other animals (e.g., dogs and cats); with enough exposure to sunlight and airflow.

  • Do not place the cage in direct sunlight because your hamster may heat up quickly.
